Brings Advanced Offshoring Services to Small & Mid- Sized
Businesses, Offering Knowledge Process Outsourcing to India and China
Includes Transaction Processing, Engineering Support & Financial
Services Support
DELRAY
BEACH, FL (February, 2006) — Sumpraxis LLC is making
knowledge process outsourcing services available to small and mid-sized
businesses through a U.S.-based team that works directly with the company’s
wholly owned support centers and business partners in India and China.
The company’s transaction processing, engineering support and
financial services support capabilities reduce operating costs, risk
and turnaround times by enabling clients to access global resources
previously available only to Fortune 1000 organizations.
Moving beyond traditional data entry and call center services, Sumpraxis
offers advanced capabilities such as 2D to 3D CAD/CAM/CAE file conversion,
healthcare claims processing, commercial mortgage processing, expense
processing and cost tracking, and the conversion of text and graphic
images into specified formats for electronic publishing. The firm also
offers joint venture opportunities and consulting services for clients
interested in establishing an offshore presence.
U.S.-based Sumpraxis personnel identify processes to be outsourced,
put the plan in place, and interface with overseas project managers
on each engagement. Each project is piloted on a time-and-materials
basis to demonstrate the feasibility and reduce client risk. Work is
supervised by Sumpraxis managers on-site at the company’s offices
in New Delhi, India, and Shenyang, China, and performed by individuals
with strong domain and software expertise in each market served. This
blended model improves outcomes by ensuring clear communication among
all parties.
Beyond Data Entry
“Offshore knowledge processing services like transaction processing
and mechanical engineering support have been available to Fortune 1000-level
companies for a number of years, either through subsidiaries or through
service providers like Infosys and Wipro that cater to the IBMs and
GMs of the world, but smaller enterprises have essentially been shut
out,” said Ashok Syal, co-founder and managing director of Sumpraxis.
“We are leveling the playing field through our established relationships
with global providers.”
Examples of engagements handled through Sumpraxis and its affiliates
include:
-
A
legacy CAM/CAD/CAE conversion for a major U.S.-based manufacturer
of undersea oil and gas extraction
equipment
to support the client’s
$100 million investment in a machine tool upgrade. The project involved
migrating legacy AutoCAD 2D drawings to Solid Works 3D surface models to
take advantage of newer technology enabling precision machining of
components, plus help in integrating all CAE data with the company’s
drawing and document management systems.
-
Processing
of 13,000 physician service claims per week for a large
West Coast medical group, including implementation of an in-house
scanning system at the client site to provide redundancy. The project
has cut processing time in half and enabled an increase in claims
volume without additional infrastructure investment.
-
Insurance
file assembly and conversion for a subrogation service that helps
insurers recover monies
on losses
caused by third parties.
The ongoing project includes assembling document sets for each
claim, digitizing each file, prioritizing claims by potential dollar
volume,
and entering data into the company’s proprietary software,
with benefits ranging from reduced processing time to a cost savings
of 35%.
Global
Sourcing Experts
Sumpraxis merges the global sourcing expertise of company co-founders
Syal, a pioneer in the Indian offshore industry through a 20-year career
with HCL Group and Joe Collard, former CEO of a technology services
firm that had an office in Bangalore and who later was involved with
companies that did offshore development work in Vietnam. Sumpraxis leverages
the global relationships the two men have developed over their combined
decades of experience.
“Through
our work, Ashok and I recognized that the overseas talent pool could
do much more than provide basic IT services like data entry, and we
also knew there was a demand for these kinds of services from small
and medium-sized enterprises,” Collard said. “We recruited
offshore service providers we have dealt with for years who had no way
to reach the U.S. companies who needed what they had to offer, and we
set up the process delivery methodologies required to bring the two
together effectively.”
Syal
is now based in the U.S. and operates from Sumpraxis’ offices
in Chantilly, Virginia. Collard works out of Sumpraxis’ headquarters
in Delray Beach, Florida.
